Family Fun Day: Ice Age Safari

Family Fun Day: Ice Age Safari

Discover the wonders of the past as you dig into excavation pits to uncover fossil replicas and hidden treasures!

Embark on a thrilling journey along the Frozen Footprints Trail, where you'll search for icy animal surprises scattered throughout the museum.

Channel your creativity and problem-solving skills to rescue a frozen creature trapped in an ice block, using salt and a dash of ingenuity!

What to Expect:

Ice Age Excavation Zone
Dig through “icy” sand pits to unearth replica fossils of Ice Age animals like mammoths, saber-toothed cats, and giant sloths.

Frozen Footprints Trail
An interactive scavenger hunt where kids follow a trail of animal footprints, hidden throughout the museum, to learn about Ice Age animals and more snowy creatures.

“Ice” Sculpting Station
A hands-on activity where kids can carve small “ice blocks” (Made of Model Magic Clay) to create their own Ice Age animal sculptures.

Ice Age Art: Cave Paintings
Join other museum guests to collaborate on a large-scale cave painting in the Art Studio, inspired by ancient artwork created during the ice age!

This event is free with museum admission.
