Guest Services Representative
SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide guests with a positive initial experience at the Clay Center. This experience is created by providing guests with accurate event information, assisting them in purchasing/picking up tickets to Clay Center events as well as daily museum admission, assisting with customer service matters that may arise, and performing opening procedures and end of day reporting for the Box Office. This position interacts with a variety of constituents and works with all other staff of the Clay Center to maintain a high level of guest service. Employee may occasionally oversee Box Office operations in the absence of the Guest Services Manager and Assistant Guest Services Manager. Employee must exercise some independent judgment and initiative.
REQUIREMENTS:
One year or more experience in customer service or marketing.
Ability to develop a growing knowledge of ticketing software systems. Experience with MS Office.
Capability of communicating positively with guests to establish their needs efficiently and courteously.
Skill to handle cash responsibly and accurately.
Ability to work as a member of a team.

SUMMARY:
Clay Center Summer Camp Intern will assist students ages 4-14 at various knowledge and experience levels in a variety of hands-on activities. Summer camps include topics such as chemistry, maker/DIY, art, exploring the outdoors and more. Persons who are working who are self-motivated, willing to quickly learn new skills, and have experience working with children will receive priority consideration.
Start Date: Monday, June 2, 2025
End Date: Monday, August 11, 2025
STIPEND: $8,200
ELIGIBILITY:
U.S. Citizenship required.
18 years or older
Full-time student enrolled in one of the 13 Academic Affiliates of the NASA Space Grant Consortium (Bethany College, Bluefield State University, Community and Technical College System of WV, Fairmont State University, Glenville State University, Marshall University, Shepherd University, West Liberty University, WV State University, WVU, WVU-IT, WV Wesleyan College, Wheeling University)

Museum Exhibit Technician
SUMMARY: Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all Museum and outreach exhibits as well as the installation and disassembling of permanent and temporary exhibits at the Clay Center as a member of the exhibit and outreach team. Share responsibilities for travelling, installing/deinstalling and maintenance of outreach exhibits throughout the state as needed.
SALARY: $32,000
REQUIREMENTS:
Basic carpentry skills
Electrical and plumbing skills
Degree in technical field preferred

Bistro Attendant
SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide excellent customer service while serving patrons of the Bistro and making sure guests have a positive dining experience. The Bistro Attendant will perform daily duties such as: stocking and prepping food options, cashing out patrons and managing the register, maintaining a clean dining area by busing tables and returning trays and utensils, and assist patrons with any dining needs. The Bistro attendant may also assist in seating and serving guest for special events and evening performances as scheduled.
PAY: $13.50 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
One to two years related experience preferred
Ability to articulate well and communicate positively with guests
Skill to handle cash responsibly and accurately.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Discovery Leader
SUMMARY: Discovery Leaders will provide exceptional customer service at the Clay Center by encouraging visitors to interact with museum experiences, engaging them in programs and demonstrations, and assisting them throughout their visit. They will also assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all exhibit galleries.
PAY: $13.50 per hour
