Great Charleston Domino Challenge

What happens when 15 families come together to build one small piece of something HUGE?

On Saturday, August 15, we’re inviting 15 families to claim their own section of the Grand Lobby and help build one giant, collaborative domino chain reaction.

From 12:00–3:00 PM, your family will design, experiment, and build your own domino pathway. But there’s a catch: your section won’t stand alone.

It will connect to the sections built by other families, creating one enormous chain reaction stretching across the Grand Lobby.

And then comes the fun part.

At 3:00 PM, we knock it all down.

Families will gather together to watch the entire creation come to life in one spectacular chain reaction! Throughout the week, domino artist Vinny Franck will also be working at the Clay Center to create the centerpiece structure that will connect all of the family-built sections.

It’s part engineering challenge, part art installation, and part community collaboration. Most importantly, your family gets to help build it.

Only 15 family build slots are available. Reserve your section today!

Museum admission is included with registration.
