The exhibition was organized by the Romare Bearden Foundation. Join the Foundation’s co-directors Diedra Harris-Kelley and Johanne Bryant-Reid for a behind-the-scenes look at the exhibition, how it came together, Bearden’s life and work, and the role of the Foundation in supporting Bearden’s legacy.

Harris-Kelley is an artist, educator, and author; she is also Bearden’s grandniece. Bryant-Reid is a WV native, an accomplished executive and fundraiser, who has an intense interest in cultural development and art education.

The gallery talk is free with museum admission.

After exploring the exhibition, continue Bearden’s jazzy vibe over on our main stage! At 7:30, the Clay Center presents the next performance in our jazz series: Shamar Allen and the Underdawgs!
