Sound Checks Returns With a New Name and Exciting Fall Line-Up

SOUND CHECKS RETURNS WITH A NEW NAME

AND EXCITING FALL LINE-UP

CHARLESTON, WV (August 6, 2024) - The Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of WV is pleased to announce the return of the Roger L. Nicholson Emerging Artist Series, formerly known as Sound Checks. The series brings new artists and local favorites directly to the main stage in the Clay Center’s Maier Foundation Performance Hall.

The fall series will include the following shows:

David Wax Museum - Friday, September 27

Shelem - Friday, October 18

John Inghram Presents a Tribute to Prince - Wednesday, November 27

The Clay Center is offering a $75 subscription to the full series. The subscription benefits include more than a 15% total discount on tickets, a special subscriber “swag bag,” and access to a special dinner menu at the Curiosity Cafe before the show. NICHOLSON for his many years of faithful and generous support,” said Kathy Bush, Vice President of Development. “Thanks to his contributions, we are able to present engaging and inspiring programs, performances, and exhibitions for people of all ages and backgrounds throughout West Virginia and the surrounding region.”

The Emerging Artist Series is presented thanks to support from The ROQ, Chris Blanchard, Encova, Spriggs, and Friends of Clay Center. The Clay Center’s performing arts and visual arts offerings are presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
