Just for Home Schoolers!
Spend an educational, fun-filled day at the Clay Center's Avampato Discovery Museum during one of our special Home School Days! You and your children may choose to experience our art and science galleries, see a giant screen film or planetarium show, participate in a themed hands-on workshop or participate in all three activities. Pricing
Funding may be available to home school students who qualify. All accompanying adults must pay applicable admission rates. Funding is not available for all events or school performances. To find out if your children qualify, please fill out the last two items in the registration form below.

Galleries- $4 per person for students and parents
Workshop- $2 per person for students and parents
Film or Planetarium- $2.50 per person for students and parents
Performances - $4 per person for students and parents

Theme: Science Exploration!

Film: Amazing Caves at 10 am

From the ice caves of Greenland to the tropical underwater caves of Mexico, join two caving
scientists as they explore magnificent underground landscapes.

Workshop: Sound of Science at 11 am or noon
Learn all about acoustics, sound and how we perceive music.

Friday, November 7, 2008
Theme: Unsolved Mysteries?

Performance: Mad Science – CSI at 9:30 am or 11:30 am
Take an interactive journey through the fascinating world of crime scene investigations with an
emphasis on math and science.

Workshop: CSI: Charleston at 11 am or 1 pm
    Check out the clues and see if you can solve our mini-mystery. Fingerprints and other exciting
    forensic evidence will be examined in an attempt to solve the crime - a perfect complement to
    the Mad Science CSI show!

Film: Dinosaurs Alive at noon
   Spectacular animation in this scientific adventure brings dinosaurs back to life in a big way! Join
    paleontologists as they discover new fossils and uncover evidence that dinosaur
    descendants are still among us.
