Science Workshops (45 minutes)
Cost: $2 per student
Workshop limit: 60; For grades PreK – 8
Looking for a great way for students to learn while still having fun? Bring your whole class for one of our hands-on Student Workshops! All workshops last approximately 45 minutes and are only an additional $2 per student.
Reptiles Revealed (available on Wednesdays)
Biology, ecology and life sciences combine as your students learn all about our scaly friends and get up close and personal with snakes, turtles and a lizard. Note: This workshop uses live reptiles.
Diving into Digestion (available on Thursdays)
Explore your own digestive system with the help of our health science mascot, Stuffee, and various hands-on human body experiments!
It’s a Bug Thing (available on Fridays)
Where are crickets’ ears located? Why does the hissing cockroach hiss? Enjoy creepy, crawly fun observing and learning about our insect friends! Note: This workshop uses live insects.

Distance Learning
The Green Bank Experience
Available on Wednesdays at 11 am
Attendance Limit: 175; Grades 5 – 12
Students will see a video presentation about the observatory, link up live with a scientist to learn about the latest research and end with a nighttime star talk.
